Description: How do you keep an injured superstar athlete top of mind with the consumer leading up to the launch of a new basketball franchise? adidas Basketball asked us to document one of the NBA's greatest players in his darkest hours. Derrick Rose had been sidelined with a major knee injury after signing a $260 million, 14 year deal with adidas. Sockeye worked with director Amir Farhang and 180LA to produce an episodic journey of the player's recovery. #thereturn netted 7 million views and more than 15 million comments, turning a story of disappointment into success—all before D. Rose ever returned to the court.
